PHYLLOSTACHYS BISSETII CLT 10 H 100 - 150 CM

PHYLLOSTACHYS BISSETII CLT 10 H 100 - 150 CM

Phyllostachys bissetii (Bisset’s bamboo) is a vigorous, evergreen, running bamboo with dense, upright green canes and abundant narrow foliage, making an excellent living screen for year-round privacy. It grows well in sun or light shade on moist but well-drained, fertile soil, and is recognised with the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Left to mature, plants can reach around 6m in height and approximately 3–4m in natural spread over time; use a suitable root barrier if you wish to contain its rhizomes to a defined area.

Feeding time: Spring — apply a general-purpose fertiliser and mulch to support strong growth.
Trimming time: Spring — thin out dead, weak or damaged canes; if height control is needed, reduce taller stems just above a node.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
