Prunus lusitanica 'Angustifolia' 10L 80-100cm

Prunus lusitanica 'Angustifolia' 10L 80-100cm

Prunus lusitanica 'Angustifolia' (Portuguese laurel, narrow-leaved form) is a refined, dense evergreen ideal for smart, easily maintained hedges and screens. The neat, narrower leaves create a tidy, formal look, while upright clusters of small white flowers appear in early summer, followed by red berries that darken to black. It grows well in sun or light shade and in moist, well-drained, moderately fertile soils, including those over chalk. Left untrimmed it can eventually reach around 12m in height and 8m in spread, but it clips very well to form hedges at the height you need.

Feeding time: Spring
Trimming time: Late summer; a light additional trim in late spring if needed

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
