ZANTEDESCHIA aethiopica 1L

ZANTEDESCHIA aethiopica 1L

Zantedeschia aethiopica is a robust, clump-forming rhizomatous perennial prized for its large, pure-white, funnel-shaped spathes surrounding a yellow spadix in late spring and summer, borne above bold, glossy, arrow-shaped green leaves. Well suited to Irish gardens, it thrives in sun or light shade in reliably moist, humus-rich, fertile soils, making a striking feature for damp borders and bog gardens. Semi-evergreen in mild areas, foliage may be checked by frost; mulch in winter where colder, and remove spent stems to prolong the display.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
