Rosa banksiae 'Alba Plena' is a vigorous, almost thornless climbing rose with long, smooth stems and small, pale to mid-green leaflets. In late spring it bears many small, double white blooms with a light, pleasant scent, making a beautiful cascade over walls, arches and pergolas. This climber requires a suitable support to establish and grow. For best results plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil and provide a warm, sheltered aspect such as a south- or west-facing wall. Allow space for its eventual size—typically up to around 10–12m in height with a spread of about 6m across a suitable support.

This climbing plant has been trained onto a supporting frame to create a neat, well-shaped specimen that is ready for planting. As it grows, new shoots can be guided and secured to continue developing its natural shape.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall).
