Lathyrus latifolius Red Pearl

Lathyrus latifolius 'Red Pearl' is a hardy, herbaceous perennial climber with twining tendrils, ideal for training up trellises, wires, fences or obelisks to bring vertical interest through summer. This climber requires a suitable support to establish and grow. Best in full sun and in moderately fertile, well-drained soil, it will typically reach around 2m in height and about 1m in spread on a suitable support. A classic choice for informal and cottage-style planting, its showy summer display makes an attractive backdrop in mixed borders.

This climbing plant has been trained onto a supporting frame to create a neat, well-shaped specimen that is ready for planting. As it grows, new shoots can be guided and secured to continue developing its natural shape.
