Hedera Gloire de Marengo

Hedera algeriensis 'Gloire de Marengo' is a vigorous, evergreen climbing ivy valued for its bold, variegated foliage that brings year-round interest to walls, fences and large supports. This climber is self-clinging and can attach itself to suitable walls or structures as it grows. Best in sun or light shade and a fertile, moist but well-drained soil, it benefits from a sheltered position away from cold, drying winds. Ultimately, it can reach approximately 4–8m in height and spread about 2.5–4m across a suitable support; prune and guide growth as needed to maintain coverage and shape.

This climbing plant has been trained onto a supporting frame to create a neat, well-shaped specimen that is ready for planting. As it grows, new shoots can be guided and secured to continue developing its natural shape.
