Genista spachiana

Genista spachiana (Spach’s broom) is a compact, sun-loving shrub valued for its bright yellow, pea-like flowers in late spring to early summer. For Irish gardens it is best grown in full sun with very well-drained, light soils; avoid waterlogged ground. Its modest size and tidy habit make it a good choice for sunny borders, gravel or rock gardens, and containers where reliable seasonal colour is desired.
