CHAENOMELES ORANGE STORM

Chaenomeles speciosa 'Orange Storm' is a compact, deciduous flowering quince prized for its showy double orange blooms that open in early spring, often on bare stems before the foliage appears. Ideal for training against a wall, fence or trellis in sun or light shade, it provides vibrant seasonal colour in wall-side borders and cottage-style schemes. This climber requires a suitable support to establish and grow. It thrives in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil and is fully hardy. Expect an eventual height of about 1.5m and a similar spread when trained across a suitable support.

This climbing plant has been trained onto a supporting frame to create a neat, well-shaped specimen that is ready for planting. As it grows, new shoots can be guided and secured to continue developing its natural shape.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall).
